New care staff begin with a fully paid induction programme covering the knowledge and practical skills needed for safe, compassionate care. Training includes moving and assisting, first aid, food hygiene, personal care, infection control, safeguarding, medication, dementia, communication and record keeping.
You will also shadow experienced staff so you can understand the role before working independently. Support continues through regular supervision, refresher learning and help to complete the Care Certificate if you do not already hold a care qualification.
